The Large Onofrio's Fountain is a prominent landmark in Dubrovnik, Croatia, also a meeting point for our food tour. Constructed in 1438 by the renowned Italian engineer Onofrio della Cava, the fountain was part of a complex water supply system that brought water from a well-spring located over 7 miles away. Despite suffering damage from an earthquake in 1667 and the Croatian War of Independence in the 1990s, the fountain has been well-restored and continues to serve as a functional public water source, offering cool refreshment to locals and tourists alike.
