Begin your journey in the morning with a visit to the legendary Mogao Caves, one of the greatest Buddhist art treasure houses in the world. Continue to the nearby Crescent Lake (Yueya Spring), a natural oasis shaped like a crescent moon that has survived in the desert for centuries. It is one of the most iconic and photogenic spots in Dunhuang.
