Know before you book

    • Wear your seatbelt whenever the vehicle is moving.
    • At Dynjandi, the walk to the main waterfall takes approximately 15 minutes uphill each way.
    • The lower section of the path is paved, but the upper section is rocky and uneven and may be wet. Sturdy footwear is recommended. You can stay in the lower viewing area if you prefer a shorter walk.
    • Bathrooms are available at Ísafjörður port before departure and during the stop in Flateyri. We cannot guarantee a bathroom stop at Dynjandi.
    • Transport is by coach. Boarding requires climbing several steps; the vehicle does not have a low-floor entrance, boarding ramp or wheelchair lift. Please contact us before booking if you need assistance with the steps or use a mobility aid, so we can confirm whether the coach is suitable for you.
    • Our team can offer a steadying hand when boarding, but cannot lift passengers or mobility devices into the coach.
    • Children aged 6-15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Dynjandi, often called the jewel of the Westfjords, is one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls. This majestic cascade spreads like a bridal veil as it flows down a series of rocky terraces. Visitors can walk along the path towards the waterfall, stopping at several smaller cascades along the way and enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding fjord landscape. This stop offers great photo opportunities and time to experience one of the most iconic natural sights in the Westfjords.

In the charming fishing village of Flateyri, guests will visit Iceland’s oldest bookshop, a unique cultural gem in the Westfjords. This historic bookshop offers a cosy atmosphere filled with Icelandic literature, local stories, and a glimpse into the village’s rich heritage. Visitors will have free time to explore the shop, browse books and souvenirs, and enjoy the peaceful character of this small fjord-side community.
