Know before you book

    • Wear flat shoes – it is, after all, a walking tour, so be comfortable.
    • Please bring a bottle of water – although we do have drinks stops throughout the tour, walking can be thirsty work.
    • Come hungry. You’ll be tasting lots of food!
    • Please note that the tastings mentioned are a selection of the delicious foods we often feature. Both offerings and tour stops may vary by day or season, but you're sure to enjoy a delightful array of local flavours!

What you can expect

  • There's an Edinburgh that never quite makes it onto the postcard, the one that smells of fresh-baked scones, sounds like laughter in a centuries-old pub, and tastes like haggis served in a way you didn't see coming. This is the tour that takes you there.

Over three hours, you'll move between Edinburgh's two defining neighbourhoods: the grand, Georgian New Town with its sweeping squares, and the medieval cobbled Old Town with its winding closes and storied Royal Mile, with four hand-picked stops, each one chosen for the food on the plate and the storey behind it.

You'll sample from Scotland's most awarded bakery, try haggis paired with whisky marmalade in a cosy Old Town restaurant, taste the classic pub food, and finish with a seasonal sweet treat. Along the way, your guide will take you through Edinburgh's most photogenic streets and fill in the history that the guidebooks leave out.

With a small group capped at 12, every question gets answered and every storey gets told properly.
