Step into a welcoming Japanese home in Bunkyo, Tokyo, and experience the harmony of Washoku through Edo-style Kaiseki and traditional home cooking.
Your instructor, with more than 10 years of teaching experience, will guide you in both English and Japanese, sharing not only recipes but also the cultural spirit of Japanese cuisine — harmony, respect, and seasonality.
In this 2.5-hour hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to prepare a well-balanced Japanese meal that reflects the essence of everyday home cooking.
Typical dishes include:
・Kinpira (sautéed burdock root and carrot)
・Shiraae (tofu and seasonal vegetables in sesame dressing)
・Ohitashi (blanched greens in light soya broth)
・Teriyaki (grilled fish or chicken with sweet soya glaze)
・Steamed rice
・Miso soup
・Pickles (seasonal Japanese pickles)
All dishes are made with seasonal ingredients, following the philosophy of Washoku — harmony with nature and balance in taste and presentation.
After cooking, enjoy your beautifully arranged meal with Japanese tea while learning about Japanese dining etiquette and the spirit of Omotenashi (hospitality).
