During our tour, we will visit Elche’s most emblematic sites, which include three World Heritage properties: Europe’s largest palm grove, the Misteri d’Elx, and the Puçol Educational Project and Museum.
It is impossible to imagine Elche without its majestic palm grove, the largest in Europe, with over 200,000 palm trees. This impressive complex includes various groves, such as the Municipal Park, the Huerto del Cura, and others.
The Huerto del Cura, the most beautiful and well-maintained of the groves, is a veritable botanical garden where, in addition to palm trees, medicinal plants, flowers, and cacti from around the world thrive. In this idyllic setting, peacocks stroll about and carp swim in the pond. During our visit, we will tour the city’s palm groves and explore this charming botanical garden, which was lovingly created by the priest José María Castaño. In honour of its creator, the garden is named Huerto del Cura.
