Meeting in Rifugio Sapienza with our Guides in our offices located in Bar Terazza dell'Etna in front of the Etna South cable car station. With the cable car up to 2500 metres, through lunar landscapes on board a special 4x4 vehicle, you reach an altitude of 2920 metres, where the climb begins.
The trek involves reaching the edge of the Central Crater at 3400 metres.
Enjoy the 360° views and weather permitting, it will be possible to see the Aeolian Islands and all of northern and eastern Sicily.
Once you have descended from the summit craters, the itinerary includes crossing the craters of the 2002 eruption, then walking inside a lava tunnel and admiring the volcanic amphitheatre of the Valle del Bove.
Return by cable car to the starting point in Rifugio Sapienza.
