Join us for a morning adventure where you'll trek through ancient lava flows, explore hidden caves, and stroll across craters left by past eruptions. Led by passionate, expert guides, this tour offers a deeper understanding of Etna’s volatile beauty, including the impact of the epic 2002 eruption.

About the trail: it has an elevation gain of around 200 metres. Start point 1660m (average). It’s a moderate hike, with the route rising and falling gently, providing beautiful views of ancient craters and the surrounding landscape.

The trail is suitable for most hikers, offering a chance to explore diverse volcanic terrain.

Detail of the programme:

• Starting point at 9:00 AM
• Travel time to the first stop: 45–60 minutes
• First stop: visit a lava tube cave
• Second stop (main stop): hike along the Monti Sartorius trail. Length 3km loop. Easy Level.
• Third stop: explore the sites of the 2002 eruption
• Duration of the excursion 4h/4h30 including Travel Time.
