TOUR IN SPANISH.
Half-day trip departing from Pamplona. After a 45-minute drive, we will enter the Pyrenees, which hundreds of pilgrims cross every day.
We will climb to the top of Ibañeta to see France and appreciate the steep slope that pilgrims coming from there have to walk. We will also be able to see some of the bunkers that were built as part of “Plan P” 80 years ago.
We will visit the Collegiate Church of Roncesvalles. This is a place steeped in history, which we will learn about on the guided tour of the museum (one of the best museums in Navarre), the Church of Santiago, Charlemagne's silo, and more. We will also see the church and cloister, where the remains of King Sancho VII the Strong, the Navarrese king who brought the chains and emerald that form the current coat of arms of Navarre, lie.
On the way back, we will stop in Burguete, a typical Pyrenean village located along the Camino de Santiago, with beautiful houses full of flowers that will delight photography enthusiasts.
