What you can expect

  • Guided tour of Santo Stefano di Sessanio, one of the most beautiful villages in the Gran Sasso National Park greatly renovated, where the picturesque Medici Tower reigns supreme. The village lies along one of the ancient tratturi, the historic transhumance routes. Discover traditional craft shops where you can buy the local saffron, called the “red gold”, typical lentils and several varieties of cheese, honey and jam. Take the chance to enter the house of a lady specialised in bobbin lacing or a wool workshop where you can experience the contact with locals.
