Discover the Gothic Quarter as a Family – A Unique and Fun Adventure

This tour is specially designed for children aged 6 to 13, turning a visit to Barcelona's historic Gothic Quarter into an exciting adventure.

Each child receives their own map, guiding them through some of the neighborhood's most iconic landmarks and transforming the tour into an interactive game full of discoveries. Along the way, children explore the city in a fun and engaging way, learning about Barcelona's history and culture without even realising it.

The experience combines education, entertainment, and hands-on participation, encouraging curiosity and learning through play.

At the end of the tour, each child takes their map home as a souvenir to colour in and relive the adventure. They will also receive a small gift to celebrate completing the experience.

A perfect activity for families looking to discover Barcelona in a different way—interactive, relaxed, and specially designed to help young explorers learn while having fun.

El tour comienza en Plaza Catalunya, donde cada niño recibirá su propio mapa y daremos inicio a la aventura en busca de los guardianes secretos de la ciudad.

La Rambla

  • 10m
We will head towards Las Ramblas, where our first stop will be the famous Canaletas Fountain. There, we will discover its history and, of course, drink from its magical water, which—according to tradition—brings good luck to those who taste it!

Fuente de la Maja Madrilena

  • 10m
After a brief stop to taste some magical nougat, we will head to Plaça de la Vila de Madrid, where we will meet the city’s first guardians. There, we will also explore a very special place: the Roman cemetery, where Barcelona’s ancient inhabitants rest.

Col.legi d'Arquitectes de Catalunya

  • 10m
We will leave Plaça de la Vila in search of the giant thermometer located on Portal de l’Àngel. Once we find it, it will show us the way to the College of Architects, where we can admire Picasso’s drawings. There, we will receive our next clue and meet more of the city’s guardians.

Archivo Historico de la Ciudad de Barcelona

  • 10m

  • 5m
With the help of the turtle, we will reach the square where the knight Ramón Berenguer stands. After learning about his history, we will follow the clues indicated by his horse, continuing our quest to find the city’s guardians.

Placa del Rei

  • 10m
After meeting some important characters from Catalan culture, such as the Caganer, we will arrive at Plaça del Rei, in the old city of the Counts of Barcelona.

Barcelona Cathedral

  • 5m
We will continue our journey to Barcelona Cathedral, where we will discover some magical animals hiding in its corners. We will also be able to see stones marked with the claws of a famous dragon, a reminder of the legends that protect the city.

MUHBA - El Call

  • 10m
The route will take us to one of Barcelona’s oldest areas, where we will explore its history and discover ancient manuscripts written on the walls in languages that are hard to understand. Then, we will continue our journey towards Las Ramblas in search of the famous dragon said to dwell there.

La Rambla

  • 10m
We will return to Las Ramblas to search for the famous dragon hiding in the Casa China de los Paraguas. It will show us the way forward, leading us to the mosaic by Joan Miró, one of Catalonia’s most celebrated artists, located on the same Rambla.

Placa Reial

  • 10m
Following the path from Miró’s mosaic, we will walk down Las Ramblas, pass by the Liceu Theatre, and reach Plaça Reial, where we will discover the famous snakes that guard the lampposts designed by Gaudí—another set of guardians protecting the city.

Placa Sant Miquel

  • 5m
We will be able to admire the famous Castellers sculpture, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO—an example of living heritage that continues to be an integral part of the city’s life.

Placa de Sant Jaume

  • 10m
We will finish the tour in the city’s most important square, where we will meet Catalonia’s most famous and beloved guardian, Sant Jordi. At the end of the experience, each child will receive a small gift—a little lizard to take home as a souvenir. They will also be able to keep their map to colour and continue enjoying the adventure whenever they like.
