Day 01: Journey to the Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum
From the moment you step off your cruise ship at Alexandria Port, our representative, holding a sign with your name, will be there to welcome you. You’ll be comfortably transported in an air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo, a journey of approximately three hours, with rest stops as needed.
In Cairo, you’ll explore the iconic Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus and marvel at the Great Sphinx, a monumental statue with the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion, dating back to the time of Chephren. Your exploration continues with a visit to the Valley Temple,part of the pyramid complex of Chephren.
Next, you’ll visit the Egyptian Museum,home to a vast collection of artefacts from the Pharaonic period. This museum houses the world’s largest and most precious collection of Egyptian art, spanning over 5000 years. Among the 250,000 genuine artefacts on display.
After a day filled with history and discovery, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before being driven to your hotel.
Day 02: Exploring Alexandria
After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll be transferred to Alexandria in an air-conditioned vehicle. In Alexandria, you’ll visit the Catacombs,a significant Roman Cemetery dating back to the early Roman period, discovered in 1900 after a 12-year search.
You’ll continue to the Qaitbay Citadel, situated at the entrance to Alexandria’s eastern harbour, the exact location of the famous Lighthouse. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the inside of the Alexandria Library.
After a day of exploration, you’ll enjoy lunch before being transferred back to your cruise ship for your final departure. With Sun Pyramids Tours, every journey is a voyage into the past, every moment a cherished memory.
Note: Alexandria library is closed on Friday so you can visit the roman theatre instead.
