What you can expect

  • Meet your guide in central Brussels and travel by comfortable coach to Bruges and Ghent, two of Belgium’s most beautiful medieval cities. Before leaving Brussels, enjoy a panoramic introduction to the Belgian capital, passing landmarks such as Cinquantenaire Park, the Royal District, Mont des Arts, the European Quarter, and the Congress Column, depending on the route.

After approximately 1.5 hours, arrive in Bruges, the “Venice of the North” and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Choose how you discover Bruges: with the guided option, follow your guide on a walking tour through the medieval centre. See the Lake of Love (Minnewater), the Beguinage founded in 1245, Walplein, St. John's Hospital, the Church of Our Lady, Dijver Canal, Rozenhoedkaai, and the lively Market Square with its famous Belfry and guild houses.

With the self-guided option, explore Bruges independently with an online audio guide featuring must-see landmarks, hidden gems, and local recommendations. Enjoy free time to have lunch, shop for Belgian chocolate, or simply wander through the historic streets. If you wish, you can also add an optional beer tasting during your free time. You can also choose to explore the city without adding any extra activities.

Continue to Ghent, another fascinating medieval city.

With the guided option, discover the historic centre with your guide and see St. Bavo's Cathedral, home to the famous Ghent Altarpiece by the Van Eyck brothers, the Belfry, Town Hall, St. Nicholas' Church, Graslei and Korenlei, the Castle of the Counts of Flanders, and the charming Patershol district.

With the self-guided option, explore Ghent independently and enjoy free time to discover its historic streets, squares, and canals at your own pace. If you wish, you can add an optional canal boat cruise to see the city from the water. Alternatively, simply enjoy your free time without adding any extra activities.

After some additional free time, return to Brussels.

Itinerary order: For operational reasons, the order may vary. In some cases, you may visit Ghent first, with free time for lunch, followed by Bruges.
