7:00-7:15 a.m. Pick-up at your hotel or main meeting point in the town of Chivay. Then, we'll head to the viewpoint of the condors and Colca Canyon, with a brief 15-minute stop at the Antahuilque viewpoint to see the crop fields and the ancient terraced area dating back to pre-Hispanic times. You'll also be able to appreciate the canyon's geological formation.
At around 8:30 a.m., we'll arrive at the Colca Canyon, where you'll have time to explore with an optional 1-hour walk to get the best views of its depth. With a bit of luck, you'll get to see the flight of the condors, depending on the season you visit (from May to October, 80% are the best months to see them very close). In the rainy season, they don't usually come out much, but the landscape in these months is just as beautiful, with lots of splendour and snow-covered mountains.
Then we'll head to the town's thermal baths, where you'll have 1 hour to bathe in the 38-degree medicinal waters. After that, we'll return to Chivay, where you'll have time for lunch (additional cost). We'll then start our way back to the city of Arequipa, with short stops at the volcano observatory, the highest point, and the national reserve area, where you can see Andean camelids such as llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas in their natural habitat. Finally, we'll arrive in the city of Arequipa to finish our tour, which usually ends at 5:30 in the afternoon.
