Full-Day Sacred Valley Tour: Chinchero, Moray, Maras Salt Mines, Ollantaytambo & Pisac
Your adventure begins with pick-up from your hotel or an agreed meeting point at 6:30 AM. From there, we’ll head to your first stop: Chinchero, a town renowned for its traditional textile centre. Here, you’ll learn about the ancient art of weaving and the cultural significance of these textiles.
Next, we’ll continue to Moray, a fascinating archaeological site famous for its mysterious circular terraces, believed to have been used by the Incas for agricultural experimentation. Discover the history and purpose behind these unique terraces.
From Moray, we’ll head to Maras and the Maras Salt Mines, where you’ll learn about the ancient salt production techniques still in use today. Explore the over 3,000 salt ponds, creating a stunning visual contrast against the Sacred Valley.
Afterwards, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in Urubamba, a charming town at the heart of the Sacred Valley. Next, we’ll journey to Ollantaytambo to visit its impressive Inca ruins, marvelling at the extraordinary architecture and stonework. Be sure to look for the rock formation of the Inca god Wiracocha, carved into the mountainside.
The tour continues with a visit to Pisac, where you’ll explore the vibrant market, known for its handmade goods and traditional alpaca wool dyeing. You’ll also visit the Pisac archaeological site, which includes terraces, Inca cemeteries, and royal buildings, all offering insights into the Inca civilisation.
After a full day of exploring, we’ll return to Cusco, where your tour will conclude.
