This tour combines the 2 main highlights of the island.

Starting our tour from the northern part of the island we will visit the picturesque village of Oia. The village is known throughout the world for its beauty and the fantastic sunset. Built on top of an impressive cliff Oia offers a breathtaking view over the Volcano and the island of Thirasia. You will also have the chance to walk around the narrow streets of Oia that have plenty of tourist shops and get familiar with the traditional architecture of the island seeing the charming caved houses and blue-domed churches. We will take a short walk around the village,admire the architecture ,learn the history of it and see some really beautiful photo spots. Then of course you will have some time to walk around on your own,take your photos admire the views or do your shopping.
Continuing our tour our next stop is the Prehistoric Town of Akrotiri. Being one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece the prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri is visited by thousands of visitors every year. You will have the opportunity to wander around the prehistoric town which was built in 2000 B.C. and was buried under volcanic ashes during the great volcano eruption that took place at about 1612 B.C. This is the main reason the city preserved almost intact through time ,until accidentally discovered .You will learn how people lived back at that time and Take an unforgettable trip to the past admiring 4000 years old pieces of art, seeing the architecture and get an understanding of everyday life back in 2000B.C.
