Day 1: Kathmandu to Paro Scenic Flight & Drive to Thimphu
Begin your journey at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu where your included return international flight to Bhutan awaits. Board an early morning scenic flight to Paro, featuring incredible left-side aerial views of Himalayan peaks including Mount Everest, Makalu and Kanchenjunga. Day 2: Morning Paro Drive, Tiger’s Nest Hike & Heritage Trails
Enjoy an early morning check-out at 6:30 AM and drive back to the Paro Valley to beat the midday heat and crowds. Embark on the iconic 4-to-5-hour return hike to Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest Monastery) which clings dramatically to a cliff face 900 metres above the valley floor. Stop at the halfway cafeteria for tea and photos before reaching the sacred cloisters.
Descend the mountain and visit Kyichu Lhakhang, a highly sacred 7th-century Buddhist temple built by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo. Make a brief photography and cultural stop at Dumtse Lhakhang, a unique chorten-style temple featuring exquisite ancient murals.
