First stop, Matera: the city of the Sassi, with its thousand-year history and unique charm. The visit to Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an exciting experience that takes you back in time. Let an expert local guide take you through the charming alleys for 2 hours to experience the magic of the “city of the Sassi”, which tells a thousand-year-old storey of houses carved into the rock, rock churches, and picturesque alleys that wind through breathtaking views. In addition to the guided visit, you will have 2 hours of free time to stroll around on your own and discover its authentic flavours. Strolling through these ancient areas means immersing yourself in a unique culture, where tradition and identity blend in a timeless atmosphere. Matera is also a lively and dynamic city, rich in art, traditions, and local cuisine, capable of surprising every visitor with its authenticity.
The tour continues on to the enchanted village of the trulli… Alberobello! Famous all over the world for its uniqueness, you can “lose yourself” for almost two hours in total freedom among colours and smells. It will enchant you with an expanse of over 1,500 trulli that have been rightfully included on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1996, extraordinary examples of dry stone construction with conical roofs. You will walk through the narrow streets of the Aia Piccola district, where you can still feel the charm of living in these unique structures, and those of the Rione Monti district, where you can admire the Trulli Siamesi, a pair of Trulli with a singular shape.
There will be plenty of opportunities to sample typical products or buy some souvenirs and discover artisan shops and local traditions.
The tour's itinerary and times may change due to logistical and organisational needs.
