Day 1: Tirana – Prekal – Shkoder
Our journey begins early as we leave behind the bustle of Tirana and head north to the hidden mountain village of Prekal. The road narrows, the pace slows, and we walk through green hills where locals still live closely with the land. Below us flows the crystal-clear Kir River — a serene welcome to the northern highlands.

By midday, we descend to Shkoder, the cultural heart of northern Albania. You'll have free time to stroll its lively streets, explore Rozafa Castle, or enjoy a lakeside coffee as the sun sets behind the Albanian Alps. Overnight in this vibrant, soulful city.

Day 2: Shkoder – Koman Ferry – Fierza – Valbona
We rise before dawn for one of Albania’s most stunning journeys — the Koman Lake ferry. As we glide across jade-green waters, surrounded by towering cliffs and thick forests, it feels like sailing through a forgotten fjord.

Arriving in Fierza, we drive into the heart of Valbona Valley. After lunch in the village, we set out on a short hike. Traditional wooden houses dot the landscape, sheep graze peacefully, and nature dominates every view. The air is fresh, the pace timeless.

Day 3: The Grand Hike – Valbona to Theth
Today is the soul of our journey: the legendary hike from Valbona to Theth. We begin early, crossing the Valbona Pass with nearly 1,000 metres of elevation gain. Along the 17–20 km route, dramatic ridges give way to quiet pine forests, and age-old stone homes speak of the past.

At the summit, we’re rewarded with sweeping views of the Accursed Mountains, named for their rugged beauty. We rest at small alpine cafes for a warm tea before descending into the remote village of Theth, surrounded by peaks and rich in folklore. Tonight, we sleep peacefully in a cosy guesthouse under starlit skies.

Day 4: Theth – Gurnas Waterfall – Blue Eye – Tirana
Our final morning begins with crisp mountain air and a hearty breakfast. We set off to explore Theth’s natural wonders, starting with the 25-meter Gurnas Waterfall, just a short, scenic walk from the village.

From there, we hike deeper into the wild towards the famed Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër). The 5-kilometer trail leads through pine woods and along pristine streams before revealing the brilliant turquoise pool. Fed by glacial waters, it invites brave swimmers or quiet picnics by its banks.

In the afternoon, we return to Theth and begin our scenic drive back to Tirana. With mountain dust on our boots and stories in our hearts, we reach the capital by evening — forever changed by the magic of Albania’s north.
