What you can expect
2-Day Itinerary: Valbona to Theth Hike via Koman Lake
Day 1 – Tirana / Tirana Airport / Shkodra to Valbona
05:30 AM – Departure from Tirana: Meeting point at Rruga Asim Vokshi, near “Gazheli” petrol station.
06:00 AM – Departure from Tirana Airport: Meeting point near “Alpet” petrol station.
06:45 AM – Departure from Shkodra: Meeting point at Hotel Rozafa, city centre. Scenic drive towards Koman Lake.
(PLEASE NOTE: Due to the high number of travellers, we do not offer pick-up from accommodation in Tirana or Shkodra, as this may cause delays. Instead, we have designated meeting points. Please ONLY choose your departure city when booking.)
08:30 AM – Arrival at Koman Lake & ferry boarding. Our staff will guide you; present the ticket sent the day before.
09:00 – 11:30 AM – Ferry ride through the stunning Komani Lake, often compared to Norway’s fjords.
12:00 PM – Arrival in Fierza & shared minibus transfer to Valbona.
13:00 PM – Arrival in Valbona. Inform the driver of your guesthouse address for direct drop-off. Accommodation is not included. Spend the afternoon exploring or resting for the hike.
Day 2 – Self-Guided Hike: Valbona → Theth
Early Morning – Begin your hike. Many guesthouses offer transport to the trailhead (extra charge). Confirm when booking. Use the GPS map sent via WhatsApp or email the day before.
Hike Details:
Distance: ~17 km
Duration: 6–8 hours (varies by pace)
Elevation gain: ~1000 m
Trail: Well-marked, with scenic viewpoints
Important: This is a challenging mountain hike. Wear sturdy footwear, carry 2–3L of water, snacks, sun protection, and weather-appropriate clothing.
Arrival in Theth (afternoon) – Choose:
Option 1: Overnight stay (not included). Return to Shkodra next day at 11:00 AM, then continue to Tirana at 14:00 PM.
Option 2: Return same day if you arrive before 17:00.
Return to Shkodra:
Pick-up: Theth village centre (Minimarket Jezerca)
Departure: 5:00 PM (same day) or 11:00 AM (next day)
Duration: ~2 hours
Drop-off: Shkodra city centre
