Your experience begins with pickup from your accommodation in Tirana. After approximately one hour of comfortable travel, arrive in Kurdari, a peaceful village in northern Albania where rural traditions and family life remain an important part of everyday living.
Here, you will meet the Alimeri Family, well known for sharing their traditional Albanian cooking and countryside lifestyle through their popular cooking videos.
But this is not simply a visit to watch someone cook.
Cook together with the family
The heart of the experience takes place outdoors, in the family’s beautiful green garden.
The Alimeri Family will prepare a selection of traditional Albanian dishes, using recipes and cooking techniques passed down through generations.
You are invited to become part of the process.
Put on an apron, help prepare the ingredients, learn how the dishes are made, and cook alongside the family. You can participate as much as you like—or simply sit back, watch, ask questions, and enjoy the atmosphere.
Depending on the season and the family’s menu, you may discover traditional favourites such as byrek, tavë kosi, fërgesë, petulla, qofte, homemade bread, jams, and other regional specialities.
Because the cooking takes place outdoors in the garden, the experience feels less like a cooking class and more like being welcomed into an Albanian family’s home for a special day.
From garden to table
There is no rush.
Take your time, talk with the family, enjoy the garden. When the cooking is done, experience the simple pleasure of eating freshly prepared food in the place where it was made.
Meet the animals
The experience also gives you a glimpse into the family’s rural lifestyle.
Visit the animals around their home, including goats, sheep, chickens, cows, rabbits, horses, cats, and dogs.
For children especially, this can be a memorable part of the experience.

You are welcomed into the family’s environment, surrounded by nature, traditional food, animals, and the rhythms of everyday village life.
Whether you want to learn about Albanian cuisine, photograph the countryside, spend time with a local family, or simply escape the city for a peaceful day, this experience offers a different way to discover Albania.
Stay longer if you wish
If you fall in love with the peaceful atmosphere of Kurdari, you can choose to stay longer.
Accommodation is available. An overnight stay is not included in this tour, but can be arranged separately if you would like to extend your countryside experience.
You can also choose to spend more time in the village during the day if your schedule allows.
Return to Tirana after approximately 5–6 hours, or arrange a longer stay for an even more relaxed experience.
