What you can expect

Discover the hidden beauty of Gozo’s north east on this guided hiking experience, where secluded bays, rugged coastal trails, natural rock pools, and history come together in one unforgettable journey.

Your experience begins with a warm welcome at the Victoria Bus Terminus, followed by a transfer to the charming fishing village of Dahlet Qorrot. Here, you’ll immediately be immersed in traditional Gozitan coastal life, with colourful boat houses, crystal-clear waters, and a peaceful atmosphere far from the crowds.

From Dahlet Qorrot, the hike continues along Gozo’s rugged north east coastline, an area known for its unique rock formations and wild, untouched landscapes. As you follow the coastal trail, you’ll discover hidden coves, natural rock pools, and spectacular sea views. For those feeling adventurous, and weather permitting, there are opportunities to swim in the crystal-clear waters or relax in the natural rock baths.

Along the route, you’ll also visit the historic St. Anthony’s Battery, one of the few surviving coastal defence structures built during the time of the Order of St. John. From this strategic viewpoint, enjoy panoramic views stretching across to Comino and Malta, while learning about Gozo’s important role in Mediterranean history.

The hike continues through the secluded area of Ġebla tal-Ħalfa, where ancient salt pans blend into the natural landscape, offering both cultural insight and unique swimming and snorkelling spots away from the usual tourist areas.

As the trail unfolds, you may also choose to visit the charming Santa Katerina Chapel, perched on higher ground and offering beautiful panoramic views over the coastline and countryside.

The experience concludes at the stunning Ħondoq Bay, a picturesque inlet with turquoise waters and views towards Comino’s famous Blue Lagoon. Here, you can relax, enjoy the scenery, or take a break at one of the local kiosks before the return transfer to Victoria Bus Terminus.

This guided hiking experience in Gozo offers the perfect combination of nature, adventure, coastal scenery, and history, making it one of the most rewarding ways to explore the island’s lesser-known north east region.

Solo travellers are welcome, with the option to enjoy a more personalised one-to-one hiking experience if preferred.

Overall, the hike from Dahlet Qorrot to Ħondoq Bay offers a delightful mix of nature, history, and culture, making it a memorable exploration of Gozo's coastal treasures.
