What you can expect
The introductory course in sport climbing is a programme designed to teach the basic techniques and skills necessary to climb safely on rock or artificial walls. The course begins with an introduction to the fundamental concepts of climbing, including the necessary equipment, safety techniques, and communication between climbers. Topics such as route selection and risk assessment are also covered.
As the course progresses, participants have the opportunity to practise climbing techniques in real situations, under the guidance and supervision of experienced instructors. Students learn to use harnesses, ropes, carabiners, and other climbing equipment, as well as to tie basic knots and properly belay their partner.
By the end of the course, participants should be able to climb independently on easy climbing routes and be familiar with the basic safety rules of rock climbing. They are also provided with information about advanced level courses and encouraged to continue practising and improving their skills.
