What you can expect

Get the most out of a visit to the Grand Palace by walking side-by-side with an experienced local guide who is excited to share the magic that is the Thailand's most famous landmark.

Make your own way to the yellow, Neoclassical shophouses out the front of Tha Cha Pier. Here you will meet your uniformed I Asia guide, an invaluable asset to ensure you get the most from your visit to the magnificent Grand Palace.

The Grand Palace is the city's most famous landmark and should be on the top of every tourist's 'Bucket List'. As your guide walks you across to the main gate you will soon see that the Grand Palace is an extremely popular place for both Thai and International visitors alike. And immediately upon entering you will soon understand why!

Glittering under the sun, the complex is enormous. It is beyond 'grand' and is much more than just a 'palace'. The Coronation Hall, The Funeral Hall, administration buildings, chedis, pavillions and much more fill the compound with ornate architechture and a long history. Not to mention that The Grand Palace houses the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Thailand's most sacred temple.

Spend about 90 minutes at the Grand Palace, and as a special bonus, take the opportunity to visit The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles whilst here, which is open until May 2021, to see some magnificent exhibits in a stunning building built in 1870.

Your guide will then walk you back across to Tha Chang Pier, buy your ferry ticket and accompany you across the river to Wang Lang Pier, a large and popular local riverside market of the same name.

This is not a shopping tour! Unlike the touristy markets like Patpong and Chatuchak, this market primarily caters for the local trade. Therefore, you get a more authentic vibe from it. Having said that, you never know what you might find here and the experience is really worth it!

After about 45 minutes here you can return back across the river with the guide OR you can choose to let the guide leave, remain at the market longer and return across the river later on by yourself.
