Chillon Castle is supposed to be the most visited historical monument in Switzerland. It was built in the thirteenth century to control the passage along Lake Geneva. It served in times as an arsenal, prison and residence of the Counts of Savoy.

The outside of the castle also deserves the attention of visitors who take pictures of it, walking around and enjoying the view. Three years ago the castle completed its outdoor redevelopment programme and inaugurated its cafeteria pavilion the Café Byron, where you can drink or have a small snack.
