What you can expect

Begin your journey at Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, an octagonal palace-style building funded by the local people and overseas Chinese, whicn perfectly blends traditional Chinese architecture with modern structure.

Walking around People's Park, a beloved green haven where local life unfolds in full colour—elderly citizens practice tai chi, children chase bubbles, and traditional music fills the air.

Step next into Comic City, a vibrant underground world pulsing with cosplay shops, anime merchandise, and youthful subcultures, offering a glimpse into Guangzhou's dynamic modern identity.

From there, stroll to Taojie(陶街), a bustling marketplace steeped in history, now known for its dense clusters of mobile phone accessories and electronics stalls—a symbol of the city's tech-savvy spirit. Continue to the Yaoshou (药州) Ruins and Tea Art Cultural Zone, where ancient herbal medicine history blends with serene tea rooms, offering an immersive journey into Lingnan traditions and refined tea culture.

Then, visit the Nanyue Kingdom Water gate Ruins, an archaeological site that reveals the sophisticated engineering of a 2,000-year-old royal drainage system. Next, step into spiritual calm at the Temple of the Great Buddha (大佛寺), one of Guangzhou’s oldest Buddhist sites, where incense smoke curls through the air and statues of the Buddha inspire reflection.

Finally, conclude at Beijing Road, a pedestrian shopping street layered with transparent glass panels revealing ancient city roads beneath your feet. Here, modern retail, street food, and historic relics coexist, making it the perfect finale to a journey through Guangzhou’s layered past and thriving present.

The fee you pay goes to the platform organising this experience. Like many “free tour” models, your guide’s efforts are supported by your in-person contributions. We recommend a tip of 200 RMB / 30 USD / 20 GBP or equivalent per traveller to fairly support your guide and keep this tour sustainable.
