Your guide will make contact via phone or Whatsapp the days in advance to answer any questions. From this spot all the participants must drive in private cars to the final meeting spot, where the trail starts. NB: the road is bumpy and we advice participants to drive carefully. There is no cell service at the trail start - that´s why we would like to meet you at the start of the road.

What you can expect

  • Meet your guide next to Tyinholmen Lodge and drive to Koldedalen, to the final meeting spot. Follow the last part of the gravel road in Koldedalen by foot. From there, walk gradually uphill until it flattens out at the glacier. The hike to the glacier takes about 1.5 hours and has some demanding parts.

    At the glacier, put on the glacier equipment provided at the car and carried in your own backpack. Your guide will give a quick introduction to the use of crampons and walking on the glacier. The glacier hike is adapted to the conditions and the group of the day, but normally you will walk a circular route on the glacier and get up close to Falketind and have a look at the crevasses in the glacier.

    After the glacier hike, return to the car along the same route. The total duration of the tour is 5-6 hours, and you will be back at Tyinholmen around 4:00 PM.
