The Tour starts at the train station in Albert, we will then proceed to visit the French cemetery in Serre to have a look at what was happening on the Somme before the 1st of July 1916 and the French perspective for the battle. We will then go to visit Beaumont Hamel at the Suken Lane and talk about how the Battle of the Somme was prepared and the early hours of the battle in that sector we will also look at a British Cemetery. Next we will visit Newfoundland Park and have a look at the preserved trenches occupied by the men of the 29th Division, this will be followed by lunch at a place suitable to your preferences. In the Afternoon we will stop at the German Cemetery in Fricourt to have a look at the German experience of the Somme as well as their burial practices. We will finish our tour at Thiepval Memorial to see the largest memorial dedicated to British and South African troops on the Somme.
