Short on time but high on adventure? This “Essential” 3-Day Ha Giang Loop tour is designed for travellers who want to experience the majesty of the “Big 4” landmarks—Heaven's Gate, Ma Pi Leng Pass, Tu San Canyon, and the Nho Que River—without the fatigue of a longer trip. Unlike standard tours, we prioritise comfort with premium accommodation featuring swimming pools to help you relax after an exhilarating day on the road.
Itinerary
Day 1: The Highland Gates & Pine Forests (Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Minh) Your adventure begins as you leave the city bustle and ascend the winding Bac Sum Pass. Feel the air get cooler as you reach Quan Ba Heaven’s Gate for your first panoramic view of the famous Twin Mountains (Fairy Bosom). Spend the afternoon riding through the dreamy pine forests of Yen Minh, a landscape reminiscent of Europe.
Evening: Settle into a cosy homestay, enjoy a traditional family dinner with local “Happy Water” (corn wine), and relax by the swimming pool.
Day 2: Conquering the King of Passes (Yen Minh – Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng – Meo Vac) Today is the climax of the trip. Start with the iconic curves of Tham Ma Pass before exploring the historic Hmong King’s Palace to learn about the region's opium-trading past. Next, prepare for the most breathtaking ride of your life on the Ma Pi Leng Pass—one of the “Four Great Passes” of Vietnam. Gaze down at the emerald Nho Que River from 2,000 metres high, then descend for a scenic boat trip through the Tu San Canyon.
Evening: Stay in a boutique lodge in Pa Vi village surrounded by karst peaks (Pool available).
Day 3: The Authentic Return (Meo Vac – Mau Due – Ha Giang) Navigate the rugged, moon-like terrain of the Rock Plateau and the famous “M-Curve” road. If travelling on a Sunday, you may witness the colourful chaos of the local ethnic market. The route returns via Mau Due, offering lush green valley views different from the previous days. Arrive back in Ha Giang City in the afternoon, where you can enjoy a complimentary shower and rest before your onward journey.
