We begin our tour at the intersection of Naciones Unidas Avenue and República del Salvador Street, right at the main entrance of Quicentro Shopping. It is very easy to find. This area is the financial heart of Quito; here, we will not only visit the park but also ride through its surroundings to discover the most modern side of the city.

Mariscal District

Plaza Foch

In fact, this was the site of one of the most tragic episodes in Ecuadorian history: the assassination and "barbaric bonfire" of former President Eloy Alfaro.

This lush green space was where exotic plants from distant corners of the world were planted for the first time, marveling the locals of the era. Today, this peaceful park still guards priceless treasures, including the iconic Quito Astronomical Observatory—the oldest in South America—alongside beautiful monuments steeped in history.

Guapulo Viewpoint
