What you can expect

We start this Durban city tour with a morning visit to Victoria Market followed by a visit to Durban Botanic Gardens. This is followed by a visit to Phezulu Safari Park where we experience the African cultural dances and also do a game drive. There are short meal breaks in between.

At Victoria Street Market you will be given time to shop for African inspired accessories, clothing, souvenirs, home decorations, paintings and luggage etc. Next to the Victoria Street Market is the Zulu Medicine Market where your guide will take you on an informative tour of “Inyanga (Doctors) lane”. The Zulu Medicine Market is a unique place where Zulu culture has survived in the modern urban environment.

The Durban Botanic Gardens is the oldest surviving botanic garden in Africa, established in 1849. The garden covers 15 hectares and contains a wide variety of plant species, including indigenous and exotic plants. It is home to a number of heritage trees, including a 160-year-old baobab tree and an avenue of London plane trees.

Phezulu Safari Park is majestically set up on the Valley of 1000 Hills. Here you will be treated to Zulu Cultural dancing experiences, visit Zulu huts and get to know the Zulu traditional way of living. There is also an opportunity to purchase some tradional wares.
