What you can expect

Option: Private Tour: Co Vien Lau, an open-air museum in Ninh Binh

Step back in time at Co Vien Lau, an open-air museum in Ninh Binh that offers a nostalgic journey into Vietnam's feudal past. Located next to the Tam Coc boat wharf, this “miniature Northern village” preserves a stunning collection of authentic ancient houses and cultural artefacts dating back to the Nguyen Dynasty.

Admire over 20 traditional wooden houses, many over 100 years old, featuring intricate wood carvings of dragons, phoenixes, and lotus flowers. These original structures, such as the communal house of Thanh Liem or the ancient house of Luu Phuong, showcase the exceptional craftsmanship of Nguyen Dynasty artisans.

Step inside these houses to find thousands of artefacts, from inlaid mother-of-pearl cabinets and mahogany tea sets to ancient ceramics and bronze drums. The interiors reflect the social hierarchy of the past, illustrating the contrast between the lavish living quarters of wealthy landlords and the simple, rustic tools used by common peasants.

Stroll through the serene garden atmosphere, with houses arranged around paved brick courtyards, lush fruit orchards, and peaceful lotus ponds. Walk along mossy stone paths, surrounded by old banyan trees and the sound of rustling leaves, and connect to the slow, agrarian rhythm of ancient Vietnam.

Option: Private Tour: Incense Village & Hoa Lu Ancient Capital & Trang An UNESCO COMPLEXE

Begin your day with a pickup from your hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Head to Quang Phu Cau, a village renowned for its incense production. Witness the vibrant sea of red incense sticks drying in the sun and capture stunning photos of the workers in action. Visit local homes to gain insight into the daily lives of the villagers who have been producing incense for generations.

Next, visit Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam in the 10th century, visit the King temples. Under the introduction of our local guide, you will get to know more about the Vietnamese history.

Finally, head to Trang An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its breathtaking karst landscapes. Take a leisurely boat ride through the complex, passing by grottos, caves, and valleys. Marvel at the natural beauty of the area and imagine yourself as a king from ancient times, using the mountains as walls, the rivers as roads, and the caves as palaces.
