It takes about 2 hours and a half to drive to Jinshanling Great Wall from the city of Beijing. From 1 April to 31 October, you can enter from middle gate and and get on the Great Wall from Brick Crenel or Shalingkou, and then walk along the Great Wall eastward. The last tower is East Five Window tower. The whole hiking may take about 3 hours. You need to get down the Great Wall from a small mountain path from East Five Window Tower. It takes another 20 minutes to walk along the mountain path before you reach the east gate. The driver will wait for you at the east gate. Between 1 November and 31 March, the east gate is closed and you would have to enter and exit from the middle gate (same gate).
