What you can expect

Begin your tour at the Atomic Bomb Dome, the only structure left standing near the hypocenter of the explosion. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the preserved ruins serve as a powerful reminder of the destructive force of nuclear weapons and the importance of peace. In the evening light, the illuminated dome creates a striking and emotional atmosphere that allows you to reflect on history in a peaceful setting.

From there, walk through the beautifully designed Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, built to honour the victims of the atomic bombing and to promote hope for a world without nuclear weapons. Along the way, visit several important monuments including the Children’s Peace Monument, inspired by the storey of Sadako Sasaki and her thousand paper cranes, the Cenotaph for the A-bomb Victims, where the names of the victims are remembered, the Flame of Peace, which will remain lit until all nuclear weapons are eliminated, and the Peace Bell, a symbol of harmony and unity.

Walking through the park in the evening allows you to experience these landmarks in a more peaceful and contemplative environment, away from the daytime crowds. The softly illuminated monuments and the quiet surroundings create a powerful atmosphere that makes the history of Hiroshima even more meaningful.

Throughout the tour, your guide will share historical insights, personal stories, and cultural perspectives that bring Hiroshima’s past and present to life. You will also have opportunities to take beautiful photographs of the illuminated landmarks and ask questions about Hiroshima, Japanese culture, and life in the city today.
