Activity itinerary

Dublin Castle

  • 20m
At this stop, we will learn about the impressive 800-year-old medieval castle right in the heart of Dublin City. Built by the Normans in the 1200s, the Castle then became the centre of British power and control in Ireland for centuries. The Castle is an impressive mix of medieval, Georgian and other architectural styles and is a must-see on any visit to Dublin.

Christ Church Cathedral

  • 15m
At this stop, we will savour the splendour of Dublin's most impressive Cathedral. Built 1,000 years ago, Christchurch Cathedral has a rich history, and on the tour you will learn about the fascinating tales of the Cathedral, including the disagreement between a King and the Pope which decided the fate of the Cathedral, and the restoration being funded by a famous Dublin whisky baron.

Temple Bar

  • 15m
This stop, we will learn about the exciting history of Dublin's famous nightlife and tourist district. From its early beginnings, to its Georgian opulence and 19th century decline, and its inspirational comeback from the 1980s onwards, we will take a wander through the cobbled streets and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of this charming locale.

Ha'penny Bridge

  • 10m
This stop, we will admire one of Dublin's most famous landmarks, the quaint but beautiful Ha'Penny Bridge. The first pedestrian-only walkway over the River Liffey, the Ha'Penny Bridge has stood for 200 years throughout the most turbulent time in Dublin's history, and indeed its enduring presence is a memory of a Dublin that is long since past.

The O'Connell Monument

  • 10m
This stop, we will hear the incredible storey of one of Ireland's greatest politicians and statesmen, Daniel O'Connell. From his humble beginnings in the wilds of County Kerry, to his unrelenting advocacy for Irish religious freedom at the centre of the British Empire at Westminster, we will pay homage to this great Irish patriot who showed his fellow countrymen that there was another way to achieve independence and dignity that did not involve the sword or the gun.

GPO Museum

  • 10m
At this stop, we will hear in vivid detail the storey of Ireland's famous revolution, the 1916 Easter Rising, which ultimately led to Ireland's independence. The GPO was the headquarters for this uprising, and no visit to Dublin is complete without a visit to this most sacred of Dublin landmarks.

The Spire

  • 10m
At this stop, we will marvel at the spectacularly stunning Millennium Spire, standing right in the centre of Dublin City. The Spire is 137 metres tall and was installed for the Millenium celebrations.

Trinity College Dublin

  • 10m
At this stop, we will admire the beautiful Georgian Core of Dublin - the Old Houses of Parliament and the front entrance to Trinity College Dublin. We will hear how this part of the city was developed in the 1700s during Dublin's heyday, and how it all came crashing to a halt in 1801.

Molly Malone Statue

  • 10m
At our final stop, we will admire the wonderful statue of Molly Malone and hear the mesmerising tale of this mythical character who has come to represent all that is good about Dubliners. She is fiercely independent, hard-working, rebellious, and loves a laugh and a joke, and she embodies the best of what it is to be a Dubliner, and hearing about her life is a fitting way to finish off our tour.
