What you can expect

  • Tour guide will collect you from your hotel at 8:00 AM for a comfortable 2-hour drive to the Mekong Delta. On arrival, board a local boat to cruise the Tien River, passing the famed Four Sacred Islets—Dragon, Unicorn (Kirin), Tortoise, and Phoenix.
    Stop at Unicorn/Kirin Islet to watch traditional coconut-candy making and try fresh samples. Continue to a honey bee farm to taste honey tea and other local products, then stroll through orchard gardens to enjoy seasonal fruits.
    Throughout the day, immerse yourself in the melodies of Đờn ca tài tử, a soulful Southern Vietnamese folk music recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage.
    Next, settle into a rowing sampan and drift along narrow coconut-palm canals, then (if available) take a short horse-drawn carriage ride through a quiet village. A short walk brings you to a leafy riverside restaurant for a Mekong-style lunch featuring regional specialities.
    After lunch, reboard the boat back to the mainland and drive directly to Saigon. The tour concludes at your hotel at approximately 5:00 PM.
