This private tour covers two UNESCO World Heritage sites in one day, focusing on the historical layout of Hongcun and the natural landmarks of Huangshan.
Hongcun Village
Hongcun is a 900-year-old village designed with a biomimetic layout resembling an ox. A historical water system flows through the village streets, connecting every household to the central Moon Pond and the larger South Lake. These water features create the mirror-like reflections that the village is known for. During the visit, you will also enter Chenzhi Hall, a merchant’s residence that contains preserved wood carvings on its beams and window frames.
Huangshan (Yellow Mountain)
After the village visit, you will travel to Huangshan and take the Yungu Cable Car to the top. This transport reaches the upper scenic area, where the hiking trails begin.
The mountain route focuses on iconic natural features. You will walk to Shishin Peak to see the ancient pines that grow from the granite cliffs. The path continues towards Lion Peak to view the “Monkey Gazing at the Sea” rock formation, which sits above the mountain's frequent sea of clouds. After completing the loop to view these peaks and rock formations, you will descend by cable car to the base of the mountain.
