This well-rounded four-day tour perfectly balances the dramatic alpine scenery of Huangshan with the pastoral beauty of its surrounding ancient villages.
Day 1 is a gentle start with arrival and exploration of Tunxi Old Street.
Day 2 is the mountain ascent. Taking the Yungu Cable Car up, you'll spend the day hiking among Huangshan's most famous sights: the Beginning-to-Believe Peak, Lion Peak, and the mesmerising first loop of the West Sea Grand Canyon. An optional ride on the cliff-hugging canyon tram offers different perspectives. You'll spend the night at a summit hotel, with free down jackets provided for the chilly morning.
Day 3 begins with the unforgettable experience of watching the sunrise from a hotel-recommended vantage point (weather permitting). After breakfast, hike across to Bright Top Peak and Feilai Stone before descending via cable car. In the afternoon, travel to the foothills to visit Hongcun Village, exploring its serene waterways and architecture before an overnight stay within or near the village.
Day 4 offers a seasonal choice. During the spectacular autumn foliage season (peaking in November), a visit to Tachuan Village is highly recommended for its breathtaking red and golden hues against traditional houses. Alternatively, visit the laid-back, non-commercial Bishan Village for its hip bookshop, cafes, and quiet lanes. The tour concludes with a transfer back to Huangshan North Station, having captured the essence of the region's natural grandeur and rustic charm.
