Get picked up from your hotel in Huaraz and head by bus to Huascarán National Park, an hour and a half away. Once there, get off the vehicle and begin a hike. During the ascent, observe the endemic flora and fauna of this area of Peru. Some of the animals that live there are the puna partridge and the Andean condor.

After walking for three hours, reach your destination: Laguna 69. As soon as you see it, fall completely in love with it, as its waters have an intense turquoise blue colour. Enjoy an hour of free time to explore the surroundings and enjoy a well-deserved lunch on your own.

Dare to jump into the water if you like. Many do, but be careful as its temperature ranges between 12 and 16 degrees Celsius. Afterwards, return to the park entrance, where the bus will be waiting to take you back to the hotels.
