Our meeting point, located between the Congress Centre and the Hofgarten, is right in the historic heart of Innsbruck. We will start our hike at 10:00 a.m. and quickly leave the bustling city centre behind. We will hike along the Inn River to the Hans-Psenner-Steg footbridge. We will then cross the River Inn over this bridge and ascend towards the Alpine Zoo. Above Innsbruck, our route takes us to the Mühlau district, from where we will enter the gorge. Continuing along the roaring mountain stream, we pass countless small waterfalls and unusual rock formations as we ascend higher and higher. After leaving the gorge, the trails widen again, and we continue our journey to the idyllically situated Arzler Alm. Here, we will have reached our “high point,” and after a break, we will head back to civilisation. We follow a gentle descent through the forests above Hungerburg until we reach our final destination at Hungerburg. From there, the city centre is easily accessible by train or bus.
