Our meeting point, between Congress and Hofgarten, is right in the historic heart of Innsbruck. We start our hike at 10:00 a.m. and quickly leave the bustling city centre behind. We hike along the Inn to the Hans-Psenner-Steg. We will now cross the Inn over this bridge and ascend towards the Alpenzoo. Above Innsbruck, our path leads to the district of Mühlau, from where we will enter the gorge. Continuing along the roaring mountain stream, past countless small waterfalls and unusual rock formations, you will ascend higher and higher. After leaving the gorge, the paths become wider again and we continue our journey to the idyllically situated Arzler Alm. Here we have reached our “high point” and after a break, we head back to civilisation. We roam through the forests above the Hungerburg on a slight descent until we reach our ending point at the Hungerburg. From there, the town centre is easily accessible by train or bus.
