Discover the Bosphorus like never before on this small-group Bosphorus cruise in Istanbul, featuring a multilingual mobile audio guide and a 1-hour stopover to explore the historic Anadolu Hisarı Fortress at your own pace.
Step aboard for a unique Bosphorus sightseeing cruise and experience the strait from a new perspective. This 3.5-hour journey offers the perfect blend of scenic views, cultural discovery, and relaxation—set against the stunning backdrop of Istanbul’s legendary shoreline.
Your experience begins at Kabataş, where you’ll embark on a comfortable boat with a limited number of guests to ensure a calm and intimate atmosphere. As you glide along the European side of the Bosphorus, admire some of Istanbul’s most iconic landmarks including Dolmabahçe Palace, Çırağan Palace, Ortaköy Mosque, and the Bosphorus Bridge.
Using our multilingual mobile audio guide (available in 9 languages), you can listen to the stories behind the palaces, waterfront mansions, and historic districts directly from your own phone while enjoying the panoramic views of the Bosphorus.
After passing beneath the Second Bosphorus Bridge, the boat crosses to the Asian side and docks at the historic Anadolu Hisarı (Anadolu Fortress). Unlike most Bosphorus cruises that only pass landmarks, this tour includes a full 1-hour stopover, giving you time to explore the fortress area, wander through the charming area streets, and capture beautiful views of the Bosphorus.
Located at the narrowest point of the Bosphorus, Anadolu Fortress played a key role in Ottoman history. Built by Sultan Bayezid I in 1393–1394, it served as the Ottoman Empire’s first strategic foothold in Istanbul, designed to control the Bosphorus waters. Later, Sultan Mehmed II strengthened this strategy by building Rumeli Fortress on the opposite shore, paving the way for the historic Conquest of Constantinople in 1453.
The surrounding Anadolu Hisarı area is equally charming. Located beside the peaceful Göksu Creek, this scenic district was once a favourite retreat for poets and artists during the Tulip Era. Today visitors can stroll along the waterfront, explore historic streets, and experience one of the most tranquil corners of Istanbul.
As the cruise continues along the Asian shoreline, you’ll see elegant waterfront mansions, lush hillsides, and historic landmarks such as Kuleli Military High School and Beylerbeyi Palace. Before returning to Kabataş, the boat passes the iconic Maiden’s Tower, one of the most romantic and photographed landmarks on the Bosphorus.
Optional light Turkish snacks are available onboard for guests who would like to enjoy a small bite while taking in the views.
Whether you’re visiting Istanbul for the first time or returning to explore more deeply, this Bosphorus cruise with an Anadolu Fortress visit and 1-hour stopover offers a peaceful, informative, and memorable way to experience the city from both sides of the strait.
