This seven-day tour is a complete, unhurried first trip to Jordan. It starts with an airport pickup in Amman and ends with a drop-off at the airport, with your own English-speaking driver and air-conditioned car for every day in between. Hotels are 6 nights with breakfast: three in Amman, two in Petra and one in a Wadi Rum camp.

Day 1: Arrive in Amman, airport pickup and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2: Jerash, the Roman city of colonnaded streets and temples; Ajloun Castle with views over the north; and Amman's Citadel and Roman Theatre.
Day 3: The Byzantine mosaic map in Madaba and the view from Mount Nebo, then south to Petra. Petra by Night is possible this evening (optional).
Day 4: Petra. A local guide walks with you for 2 to 3 hours through the Siq to the Treasury, the Royal Tombs and the Colonnaded Street; then continue on your own to the Monastery or anywhere you like.
Day 5: Drive to Wadi Rum for a 2-hour 4x4 jeep tour among red dunes and canyons, a zarb dinner cooked under the sand and a night in a Bedouin camp.
Day 6: The Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth: float and relax, then back to Amman.
Day 7: Bethany Beyond the Jordan, the Baptism Site of Jesus, then your airport drop-off.
