What you can expect

  • Start your day early with a convenient hotel pickup (around 8 AM), bringing you to the lush Jozani Forest — home to Zanzibar’s rich biodiversity. This small-group tour is limited to a maximum of 20 participants, ensuring a personal and comfortable experience.

Upon arrival at Jozani Forest, you’ll enjoy a guided walk through the tropical forest, where your local guide will share fascinating insights about the ecosystem, native plants, and the unique wildlife that calls this forest home. Keep an eye out for colourful tropical birds, butterflies, and rare plant species as you explore.

Next, we’ll move to the area where the local monkeys are usually found. With the guidance of your local expert, you’ll have the chance to see a variety of species, including the playful Zanzibar red colobus monkey — one of the rarest endemic primates — along with other monkeys in their natural habitat. Afterwards, take a stroll along the mangrove boardwalk, experiencing the forest from a different perspective and enjoying the serene surroundings. The total time at Jozani Forest is approximately two hours.

After the forest adventure, we’ll continue to Salaam Cave, a unique and photogenic site famous for its giant marine turtles. You’ll have a guaranteed 30 minutes to be up close with the giant marine turtles, where you can observe, take photos, and enjoy this unique encounter in their natural surroundings. If the tide is ideal, there may also be time to swim at the nearby pristine white-sand beach, offering a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the water. Entrance fees are included in this tour.

Following your visit to Salaam Cave, you’ll enjoy a relaxed international lunch, freshly prepared and served locally.

Then, after lunch, we will transfer you back to your hotel in a comfortable air-conditioned van, arriving in the early afternoon (around 3:00 PM). You’ll leave with wonderful memories of Zanzibar’s unique wildlife, lush landscapes, and extraordinary natural experiences.
