What you can expect
The tour begins with a visit to the Ambuluwa Tower, where you can witness the sunrise. After the Ambuluwa Tower, we will proceed to the Kotmale Mahaweli Seya Stupa. The Kotmale Mahaweli Seya is a large, modern stupa located in the Kotmale Valley, notable for its design and layout. Visitors can admire the stupa, its three circular platforms, and the surrounding landscape, including views of Monaragala (Moneragala Kanda) and the Kotmale Reservoir and Dam. The stupa is a memorial to those displaced by the Kotmale Dam and its construction, and its ruins can sometimes be seen when the water level is low.
After the Mahaweli Seya Stupa, we will visit the Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Ramboda, where you can see a 40-foot-tall granite statue of Lord Hanuman and enjoy panoramic views of the Kotmale Valley. This temple is dedicated to the Ramayana legend, as it is believed to be the place where Hanuman rested while searching for Sita.
After visiting the Hindu temple, we will take you to the Ramboda Darshana Point. At the Ramboda Darshana Point, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding lush, mountainous landscape and tea estates, as well as the often scenic and misty atmosphere of the Kotmale Lake. You can also see the Ramboda Falls and the Poona Falls.
After sightseeing, we will visit the Ramboda Falls. At Ramboda Falls, you can see a three-tiered tea terrace waterfall, lush green hills, and panoramic views of the surrounding tea estates. It is also a hotel with a restaurant and viewing platforms, where you can experience the refreshing mist of the waterfall. Nearby attractions include other waterfalls, tea factories, and tea estates.
After visiting the waterfall, we will visit a tea factory, where you can learn about the entire tea-making process, from the selection of tea leaves to the final packaging of different tea grades. You can see how tea is dried, rolled, fermented, and dried, experience a tea tasting, and buy high-quality tea directly from the source.
Later on the way to Nuwara Eliya, you will see beautiful tea estates, beautiful, green hills,
When entering Nuwara Eliya, the first thing we see is the red post office building. You will see a historic red brick building with a Tudor-style design, a clock tower and sloping roofs. The Nuwara Eliya Post Office is a popular tourist attraction that reflects the colonial architecture of the area known as “Little England”.
In Nuwara Eliya, you can see colonial-style architecture in the city centre, which includes a historic post office and a racecourse. There are many natural attractions such as Gregory Lake for boat rides and sightseeing, Victoria Park for walking, and the surrounding hills covered in tea plantations such as Pedro Tea Estate. You can also visit cultural and religious sites such as the Sita Amman Temple and natural wonders such as the Hakgala Botanical Gardens.
We will then transfer you to your booked hotel.
