What you can expect

Myoshinji Temple, the largest Zen temple in Kyoto, has 46 pagoda temples. We will have a meditation experience at one of them, jusyouin. This experience allows you to receive training directly from the monks at a beautiful temple. In front of a beautiful Japanese garden with 400 years of history, you will engage in meditation. Japan is known for its distinct seasons, allowing visitors to enjoy gardens adorned with various colours throughout the year. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom beautifully. Let's take a moment to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life in the presence of cherry blossoms.

Please enjoy the quiet atmosphere that is uniquely Kyoto and uniquely Japan.
We will introduce you to non-typical sightseeing and hidden good places in Japan.

During the tour, you will be photographed by our exclusive photographer with a single-lens reflex camera. You will be able to preserve your precious experience as a memory.
After the tour, we will edit the photos and send you the data.

The man who will teach you how to do zazen meditation is Eitetsu Nishida, the 16th generation abbot of the temple. Of course, he is a rigorously trained Zen monk and can answer any questions you may have. The opportunity to talk with a Japanese monk is a very valuable experience. You can learn a lot from him.

The zazen experience will consist of two sets of approximately 20 minutes. This is to ensure more authentic meditation time than other Zen experiences.
During meditation, a short period of concentration is required to truly calm the mind. The best situations for concentrating on meditation await you.

Of course, you are free to take pictures. You are of course free to take pictures, and our guide will help you with the photography.

The host of this tour also runs a Japanese tea brand. The brand has a member who is the youngest person ever to be certified as a “Japanese tea instructor,” a qualification similar to that of a wine sommelier. The Japanese tea instructor will select tea and sweets that is in the season and serve them to you.

Then watch Zen and tea converge in a ritual that transcends time. You can learn the proper way to drink matcha tea and its manners directly from the chief priest.

After your Zen immersion, enjoy the freedom to stroll through the expansive temple grounds, furthering your connection with ancient traditions.
