Discover the secrets of the Distillerie de la Seine on a guided tour through the heart of Le Havre. Learn about the craft of distillation and the family history behind the stills, then finish your visit with a tasting of the distillery's award-winning spirits.
Your tour begins where the storey starts: at the source. Learn how the water used in every bottle is drawn from a spring at the foot of the Langres plateau, then purified by the distillery itself, before following that same journey the Seine takes all the way to its mouth in Le Havre. Along the way, discover the distillery's history and mission, from the family's first communal still in Haute-Marne to the alambic at the heart of today's workshop, and see the cellar where spirits age slowly in cask.
You'll also learn how most of the herbs, flowers and fruits used in the distillery's spirits are grown and gathered on the very lands that border the Seine. Discover the 777 range, which includes a pastis, a vodka and a gin, each awarded a medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
The tour ends with a guided tasting of the distillery's spirits. Try the 777 range of pastis, vodka and gin, alongside a nettle and tarragon gin, a pure organic single malt, a mint liqueur and a coffee liqueur, and taste for yourself what makes each one distinctive.
Good to know: the tour welcomes small groups of 6 to 25 people and lasts around 1.5 hours. Visitors under 18 are welcome and get in for free, in line with current regulations, however as tasting alcohol is reserved for adults, the tasting portion is not included for minors.
