Here you can discover the best and most genuine that Lisbon has to offer. The old and winding Lisbon is full of alleys and very narrow streets.
The tour starts through the Rossio Square and the ingenious Pombaline city centre. With firmness and tight belts, we wink at the church of Santo António and admire the majestic cathedral. A little above we make the first viewpoint stop at Portas do Sol, where we take the best photo of the Alfama area. Here the light and colour fade into the glowing blue of the beautiful Tagus River.
The climb is still in the middle. A little above the area of Graça, which despite the changing times, continues to be full of authenticity and charm. At the second stop we have the highlight of this tour, the famous viewpoint of Miradouro da Nossa Senhora do Monte, from where it is possible to have a clear perspective of the city. Hundreds of people head towards this spot to admire the sunset everyday.
Returning to Alfama and with the good luck of picking a Saturday or a Friday with our tour, it is possible to check the flea market that dates back to the 13th Century. On this east side of the area, you can still see the famous National Pantheon as well as the typical architecture of the area, and the famous laundry hanging drying in the wind.
