From there, you ride along the banks of the Saône, cross Place Bellecour, one of the largest squares in Europe, and follow the scenic Rhône riverbanks, recently renovated for cyclists.

    The route continues through the Croix-Rousse district, the historic home of Lyon's silk weavers, before finishing at the Confluence, where the Rhône and Saône meet and where modern architecture contrasts with Lyon's storied past.
