Maiko Night Performance including Kaiseki-style Kyoto cuisine Dinner(GW)
【Maiko】 A maiko is an apprentice geiko (not exactly same as geisha) in Kyoto, western Japan. Their jobs consist of performing songs, dances, and playing the shamisen or the koto (traditional Japanese instruments) for visitors during feasts. Maiko are usually aged 15 to 20 years old and become geiko after learning how to dance the traditional kyomai dances, play the shamisen, and learning Kyō-kotoba (dialect of Kyoto), regardless of their origins.
【Kyoto Style Kaiseki Cuisine】 Because Kyoto is surrounded by mountains, this makes it difficult to obtain a variety of seafood. As a result of this making exceptionally delicious cuisine with limited options for ingredients has always been the best demonstration of a chef’s cooking skills. You can enjoy these subtle flavours that highlight the natural essence of the ingredients while your eyes are dazzled by the beautiful presentation of each dish.
【Kyoto's night view】 Enjoy an expansive night view of the Kyoto cityscape from Higashiyama's peak. Kyoto's lack of skyscrapers makes this nighttime scenery look like a sparkling ocean of lights spans the mountain backdrop. *The “Night View” may be altered to a nighttime drive through the city depending on weather and traffic conditions.
